This is an elective/outpatient endoscopy coverage request, but the procedures will be performed in an inpatient OR setting. No anesthesia support is provided, as all cases require IV conscious sedation, necessitating conscious sedation privileges. Up to 15 cases can be scheduled each day. One room is available with two RNs, one providing sedation and the other circulating.

The physician is responsible for communicating biopsy results for all procedures directly to the patient or through the designated clinic MA. Coordination for additional steps, including referrals and follow-ups, along with additional imaging, may be necessary. Proficiency in EPIC training (or successful test-out) is required.

Elective/outpatient GI procedural coverage is needed most weeks through 2025. A phone call is not required before confirming an assignment.
