Schedule and Responsibilities
- Workdays are Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend responsibilities for admissions and critical patient evaluations.
- Responsibilities include brief review and sign-off with the liaison for admitting patients, timely completion of History and Physical (H&P), and a Plan of Care note.
- A minimum of three face-to-face visits is required, with potential for more if needed.
- Consultation with Internal Medicine is required where applicable.
- Team conferences occur per schedule, generally in the afternoons.
Daily Structure
- Typical working hours are 8 AM to 5 PM or 9 AM to 6 PM, with variations such as 10 AM to 7 PM.
- Case conferences are scheduled after lunchtime.
Patient Load and Collaboration
- Patient census ranges from approximately 40 to 50 patients, divided between locum tenens and the permanent team.
- Participation in team conferences and decision-making processes is essential.
- Providers should expect an average of 2 to 3 calls per day regarding their patient base.
Training and Specific Requirements
- Pinpoint training for the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is required, with preference for completion using screen-sharing tools.
- Arrival one day prior to the transition of responsibilities is preferred for orientation and handoff.
Candidate Preferences and Certification
- Preference for candidates with prior experience with specific healthcare systems.
- Board certification is required, with exceptions for board-eligible candidates.
- Candidates must exhibit strong capabilities in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, particularly in pain management for both acute and chronic conditions.
Skills and Procedures
- Required to perform stress reduction and relaxation training.
- Medical management is preferred.
- Prior experience in intra-discal electrothermal annuloplasty (IDET) is considered an advantage.
Other Information
- The provider will not be responsible for injections, immobilization devices, diagnostic/therapeutic taps, or nerve conduction studies.
- The position is within a facility with no trauma level designation.
