Opportunity Overview
We are looking for a skilled radiologist to join the established radiology team within the imaging center-based Breast Center. Although this position is primarily centered on breast imaging, we encourage practitioners with a focus on comprehensive radiology skills to apply.
Coverage Requirements
- Coverage will commence at the end of July and continue until permanent staffing has been filled.
- The practice involves various daily procedures with the following case distribution:
- Screens: 41.0
- Diagnostics: 7.2
- MRIs: 2.1
- Stereotactic Biopsies: 0.2
- Ultrasound Biopsies: 1.1
- MRI Biopsies: 0.1
- Breast Ultrasounds: 5.2
- Total cases: 56.9 per day
Practice Environment
- The facility is equipped with 2-3 examination rooms.
- Support is provided by a team of associate mammography and ultrasound technicians.
- The practice is equipped with documentation systems including Powerscribe, EPIC, and Hologic.
- A team of 5 radiologists works locally.
- Teleradiology is not utilized for breast imaging.
Patient Demographics
- The patient group is predominantly composed of adult women, ages 35 and older, with specific breast imaging needs.
Qualifications and Preferences
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology (ABR or AOBR) is required.
- Active California state license is required.
- Fellowship training in breast imaging is highly preferred.
- BLS certification is highly preferred, though not mandated.
Credentialing and Licensing
- The credentialing timeline is between 60-90 days.
- Due to the fast-paced nature of this position, the application cannot accommodate those needing to obtain a new state license.
Certifications Required
- Board Certification in Radiology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
