Position Overview:
Seeking a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician to join a medical group in Greater Lansing. This role involves working in a busy emergency department with support from nursing staff and daily Advanced Practice Providers (APP) coverage. The facility uses the Cerner EHR system.

Responsibilities:
– Supervise APPs and residents.
– Perform family medicine procedures including adult and pediatric outpatient care, newborn resuscitation, fracture care, suturing, incision and drainage, psychiatric evaluations, and more.
– Manage common industrial-related medical problems and ventilation maintenance.
– Conduct procedures such as central line placement, arterial line insertion, EKG interpretation, and lumbar puncture.

– Fast track in ED staffed by APPs
– 22% of ED patients admitted daily, 1% transferred.

Support and Operations:
– Hospitalists write admission orders.
– Expenses cover car, fuel, and mileage, with hotel expenses capped.
– Malpractice must be included by the provider.

Qualifications:
– Board Certified by ABEM or AOBEM.
– Emergency department experience is highly preferred.
– Michigan License is required.
– Must have a clean background for credentialing.
– Must be local to the area.

Health and Safety Requirements:
– Flu vaccine for 2024-2025 season.
– COVID documentation or declination if the booster is not received.
– TB testing and related health queries.
– Vaccine and titer documentation for Hep B, MMR, Varicella, and TDAP.
