Interventional Cardiology Coverage
Requirements:
- Must have MI license and clean background to obtain emergency privileges.
- Minimum board certification eligibility.
- Facility requires physicians to be board certified.
Responsibilities:
- Provide interventional cardiology consultations and manage a typical patient load of about 15 on the service alongside at least two Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
- Conduct table-top rounds with the APP team each morning, dividing any pending consults.
- Physically round on patients who require physician attention.
- Participate in night call as scheduled from 1700 to 0800, with backup from an interventional cardiologist for emergent procedures.
- Possible involvement in transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) procedures on occasion.
- Collaborate with an in-house interventional cardiologist each weekday and one on call during weekends for any necessary procedures.
Schedule:
- Hospital service typically operates from 0800 to 1700.
- Night call schedule is from 1700 to 0800.

- Patient encounters per shift are variable.
- Department consists of 10 beds.
- Facility trauma level is 2.
- Nearest airport is Sawyer International Airport.
Credentialing:
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is 30 days upon complete application return.
Notes:
- The role does not require Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), or Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) certifications.
- Fellowship of 3 years required.
